  The President Jim Lobenstein, and possibly sole employee at American Eagle Mortgage in Colorado (they share their offices and admin. assistant with another company to appear more professional – visit yourself), prepared our mortgage. The upside, he got us a fine product and closed the deal. The downside, we were surprised at closing with an additional $60/month (=$700+/year) in mortgage insurance without warning, without a call, and that was with a 45 day closing on our house (plenty of time to give us warning or find a better underwriter).
  
  Jim offered to pay for the appraisal to get us released early from Mortgage Insurance to make some amends for the lack of professionalism. I ordered that appraisal after he confirmed he would send the check, we passed thankfully. So Jim only cost us about $1500 in extra MIP. Guess what though, I've called about 30 times and stopped in his office twice and no check (now $2k extra). He even told me he sent it, "It is going in the mail today."
  
  Also, I filed a BBB claim and he tried to claim that he quoted us a better MIP than we received at closing. Good thing I have the GFE and the payment records. He lied even to the BBB to cover his butt.
  
  Latest update: After the BBB closed their case as unresolved and dinged his rating, they advised me that my only recourse was small claims. I proceeded with that and gave Jim a deadline before I would file. He did send out a check in response for the appraisal fee he promised and asked me to remove any negative reviews. I've removed my most negative comments and left up the story for your own conclusions.
